I bought this on the recommendation of Dr. Charlie Fagenholz. I have used it daily for about two months and it has revolutionized my health. I’m now drinking way more HIGH QUALITY H2O, every single day. I don’t know how I lived without it. It was beyond easy to install. The only maintenance, if you can even call it that, is washing the containers with warm soapy water weekly. My husband and I love it. My sister bought one on my recommendation and she loves it as much as I do.
Negative review – Water capacity and tank seal issues
Had this for over 2 years. Was about $360 back in 2021, but I see it’s over $400 now. CONS: 1. water capacity of this is very small. It doesn’t even provide a gallon of water. Not a huge con for me, as I knew that when I bought it, but you’ll be filling the reserve tank probably 2-3 times per day. 2. Purified water tank is not sealed and can easily be opened and contaminated by someone. I find this flaw the most inexcusable. The tank that holds the purified water needs to be completely sealed off and inaccessible. 3. Requires electricity Pros: No drilling required and no wasting valuable space below my sink, as is the case with most RO systems. I have a traditional RO unit as well, along with a 5-gallon storage tank. In truth, conventional RO units are far, far superior to this one, but they take up far too much space under the sink.
Review after 6 months of use
6-month update: We had to change the first filter, the one labeled “1-2” today because that filter light lit up and stayed lit. It was very easy and consisted of sliding the side of the unit up and off as this is where the filters are located. I unscrewed the filter and after unpacking the new filter, screwed it into the now empty filter location. I then slid the filter cover back on and pressed the filter reset switch located at the back of the unit. The filter numbers which had lit up and stayed on, letting me know which filter needed replacing, were now off. The water filter was now ready to use. I cannot believe I messed around with under-the-sink RO systems (the one I had exploded flooding my condo and the family before me) and filter and pitcher setups which are so expensive in the long run and only one worked well named ZeroWater or something like that. This unit costs pennies to operate and provided one great tasting glass of water after the next. I will do my next update at 1 year. Thanks.

This AquaTru filter is perfect for our family and was well worth our money. We were looking for a non-permanent on-the-counter RO solution, and AquaTru countertop is so easy to set up and use. Filling up the refill tank is easy, and the water filters very fast. The detachable clean water tank will come in handy for the very hot months ahead! I highly recommend this filter for anyone looking for a countertop RO system that has great tasting water! There is a noticeable difference when we drink tap water.
